For the first time in South Africa, the Austrian creative guru, Mario Pricken, author of “Creative Advertising” (130.000 copies sold in six languages) is holding an open two-day training in Cape Town in August 2012. Very few people know as many creative companies from the inside as he does. Brands like Red Bull, Endemol, Nike, PayPal, Ikea, Daimler and ebay have all benefitted from his insight!

The Stellenbosch Academy of Design and Photography present Mario Pricken in April 2013 in Stellenbosch for a two-day workshop.

After the sensational success in August earlier this year, the Austrian creative guru, Mario Pricken, best-selling author of Creative Advertising (130 000 copies sold in six languages) is coming back to South Africa on the 3rd&4th of April 2013.
We are already on bizcommunity and work again with the DMMA.

Book now!
Again only 20 spots to fill!

Some of the workshop participants.

Pricken’s unconventional approach to creative thinking applies the theory of random visual and lingual stimuli used to draw upon inspiration from seemingly unrelated raw material. This, coupled with some briefing brought forward by the participants themselves, the workshop aimed to reinvent creative strategies and systematically manage raw thoughts in order to arrive at the ‘big idea‘ faster.

Mario and Su with the Stellenbosch Academy for Design and Photography staff!
Mario has left Cape Town today but will be back for sure. There is huge interest in more workshops and trainings and we hope to repeat this energizing and inspiring experience next year! Preferably in summer!!!!
Day two we spend playing with new creative techniques and applying our new knowledge on real time briefs. We learned about the thought process and got to know ourselves better and how we function.

Everyone has chosen their own preferred technique of idea generating. May it be random stimuli or re-framing, forced relationship, visual stimuli or lingual.

Thanks to friends of design for the awesome location!
Some feedback on the course:
“It was hard work, I gained lots of new insights and got provided new skills to apply in other fields as well.”
“The most surprising fact for me was the importance of an agreed creative playfield where no idea is stupid and that even seemingly week material can be developed.”
“We did learning by doing. I love that practical approach. To think out-of-the-box with very simple tools was my favorite part.”

Some more feedback on the course:
“To learn that everyone can be creative when using the right methods.”
“I have learned new approaches and ways to access my subconscious.”
“The workshop increased the confidence in my own professional abilities and practice.”
“I have learned new creative thinking methods through practical exercise in a relaxed environment within a creative team.”
